Benilde Wins School Of The Year Anew At The 10th Student Quill Awards

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) was lauded with its second consecutive School of the Year title at the recently concluded 10th Philippine Student Quill Awards, the student category of the prestigious Philippine Quill Awards.

Themed “PAST FORWARD: A decade of shaping the future of communication,” it is the annual program by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines. It received more than 800 entries from different academic institutions, the highest number recorded by the esteemed award-giving body in history.

It honored the exemplary outputs, tools, and research of industry practitioners and students across various fields, who emphasized the use of excellent communication to achieve business goals and make a difference in society.

Twenty-four winning distinctions came from the Benilde Student Publications Unit (SPU) representatives from the Benildean Press Corps (BPC), DLS-CSB’s official student-journalists’ organization, and Ad Astra, the sole organization tasked to produce the college’s official yearbook.

BPC obtained six Excellence Awards, which were given to Horizons: Apophenia Submissions Campaign and Horizons: Apophenia by Danielle Sabine Lim, Pride 2022 by Anne Carmina Valmeo, Pinoy Christmas (Dec. 25, 2022) by John Raphael Cadungog, The Benildean: Redacted by Dylan Kirsten Emmanuelle Melencion, and Woes of the Silenced by Hannah Regina Dayan.

It likewise bagged 12 Merit Awardees, which included Shades of Gray: Tales of the City by Gabriel Francisco Gatuslao, TB23 Print Ad: (Pre Elections) by Kaila Lorainne Rogando, NCCA 98 Finals: CSB vs CSJL Photo Album by Cielo Azaña, Behind the curtains of parasocial relationships by Wallace Roland Beltran, Get to know the creative processes and experiences of these six local illustrators by Renee Isabella Aguila, and The Metaverse is here: Virtual reality’s leap toward connecting worlds by Anna Marie Laganzon.

The Benilde SPU likewise acquired the Top Award in Communication Skills for Horizons: Apophenia by Lim.

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) was named Second for the School of the Year, while the Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL) placed Third.
