WPP has announced the appointment of Cindy Rose as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1st September 2025. She will succeed Mark Read, who will step down as CEO on the same date. Mark will continue working with Cindy to support the leadership transition until the end of the year.

Cindy Rose has served as a Non-Executive Director on the WPP Board since 2019. In her new role, she will be based in both London and New York.

She joins WPP after nine years in senior leadership roles at Microsoft. She is currently Chief Operating Officer, Global Enterprise, where she has supported global companies in their digital transformation and AI adoption efforts. Before assuming this position in March 2023, Cindy served as President of Microsoft Western Europe and CEO of Microsoft UK.

Her prior leadership experience also includes roles as Managing Director of Vodafone’s UK consumer business and Executive Director of Digital Entertainment and Media Sales at Virgin Media. She also spent 15 years at The Walt Disney Company, concluding her tenure there as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Disney Interactive Media Group, EMEA.
