To culminate the celebration of the National Children’s Month this year, World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. mounts the virtual National Day of Prayer for Children on November 25, 2022, 9:00 AM to be livestreamed on World Vision’s official Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/worldvisionph.

Together with the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and National Youth Commission (NYC), the virtual event aims to gather various stakeholders to pause and pray for the well-being of all Filipino children, including their families and communities nationwide.

Joining the prayer gathering are leaders from the government including the Department of Health (DOH) Officer-in-Charge Secretary Honorable Dr. Maria Rosario S. Vergeire, and CWC Executive Director Honorable Undersecretary Angelo M. Tapales.

“It is a privilege to be able to pray for all children especially the most vulnerable. With this we thank everyone for joining us especially our long-time partners from various sectors of the society. Together let us lift up to the LORD the well-being of children including those whom God uses to care for them,” shared World Vision National Director Rommel V. Fuerte.

Joining from World Vision and the private sector to lead the prayers include former Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno, Central Bank consultant Eduardo Jimenez, Papemelroti entrepreneur Imelda A. Fider, journalist Jeanette Ng-Lim and businessman Fernando Zobel De Ayala.

Representing partner churches are Bishop Noel Pantoja and Bishop Leo Alconga, the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) national director and board member, respectively.

An interfaith prayer by children all over the Philippines will also be launched on the same day. This project is a collaboration between World Vision and CWC. The praise and worship music recorded for the event, courtesy of the Victory Worship of Victory Christian Fellowship, will be performed by World Vision staff and children from its area programmes.

This year’s National Children’s Month celebration, with the theme “Kalusugan, Kaisipan, at Kapakanan ng Bawat Bata Ating Tutukan!”, focuses on the mental health and well-being of children, following alarming and lingering concerns brought by the COVID–19 pandemic.

For 65 years in the Philippines, World Vision has been working with various partners to achieve hope, joy and justice for all children through programs on health and nutrition, education, including values formation and spiritual nurture, child protection and participation, savings and livelihood, disaster preparedness and emergency response.

A replay of the prayer event will be also made available in World Vision’s official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WorldvisionOrgPh.
