While numerous media awards exist, the Sustainability and Print Innovation Awards distinguish themselves as the only global competition dedicated exclusively to sustainability and print innovation. This unique focus highlights the importance of environmental stewardship and forward-thinking in the media industry.
The competition is open to newspaper and magazine publishers, advertisers, and advertising agencies worldwide. In 2024, WAN-IFRA has rebranded its Print Innovation Awards to include new categories, reflecting a broader commitment to sustainable practices and innovative solutions.
Award Categories and Timeline:
- Product Innovation: Recognizes innovations that enhance existing products.
- Products for Young Readers: Celebrates print products designed to attract young audiences.
- Going Green Projects (new category): Honors companies that have launched initiatives to reduce their environmental impact, including efforts to minimize waste, energy consumption, or carbon emissions.
- Young Leader of the Year (new category): Identifies and celebrates up-and-coming professionals within the industry, selected from the World Printers Forum community.
