Qantas has appointed Jacqui Abbott as its new Executive Manager of Corporate Affairs and Internal Communications. Abbott brings a wealth of experience to the role, having recently concluded a successful three-year tenure as Executive Director of Communications at Foxtel Group.

Abbott’s appointment marks a return to the aviation sector for the seasoned communications leader, who previously held significant roles at Virgin Australia. Her new position at Qantas will see her reunited with Danielle Kieghery, a former colleague from Virgin Australia, highlighting a strong professional connection and continuity in leadership.

Before her time at Foxtel Group, Abbott accumulated extensive experience in senior communications roles at Ogilvy PR ANZ and Optus. Her broad expertise in managing corporate and internal communications strategies will be instrumental as Qantas continues to navigate a dynamic and evolving industry landscape.

“I am thrilled to be back in the aviation industry and to join the team at Qantas, especially working again with Danielle Kieghery after our time at Virgin together,” Abbott said.

In her new position, Abbott will lead the charge in advancing Qantas’s corporate affairs and internal communications strategies, focusing on enhancing the airline’s reputation and internal culture as it continues to navigate the evolving landscape of the aviation industry.
