AstraZeneca, a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, has appointed Preeti Chhatbar as the new Director of International Biopharma Communications. In this role, Chhatbar will oversee strategic communications across key regions, including Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, with a focus on AstraZeneca’s critical therapy areas: Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM), Respiratory & Immunology (R&I), and Vaccines & Immune Therapies (V&I).

Chhatbar brings over 20 years of experience in healthcare communications, having held senior roles in global pharmaceutical companies. Her expertise in managing complex communication strategies, particularly in emerging markets, is expected to enhance AstraZeneca’s engagement and visibility across diverse biopharma landscapes.

AstraZeneca’s recent advancements in its CVRM, R&I, and V&I portfolios have been significant, with products like Farxiga (dapagliflozin) and Fasenra (benralizumab) making notable progress. Chhatbar’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping the communication strategies that support AstraZeneca’s continued growth and its mission to transform lives through science and innovation.

In addition to her global responsibilities, Chhatbar will collaborate with regional teams to align communications with local healthcare priorities, ensuring AstraZeneca’s messaging resonates across different cultural and regulatory environments.
