The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) honors journalists and media innovators who are well known for going beyond their profession, demonstrating great courage despite challenges to press freedom, and delivering essential information to the public by opening nominations for the 2025 Knight International Journalism Awards.
The award-giving body seeks nominees who have made an impact on people’s lives worldwide through their coverage or media innovations. Eligible candidates include reporters, editors, technologists, media managers, or citizen journalists from countries where they face crises and challenges in their work.
The Knight International Journalism Awards, supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, uphold the mission of the ICFJ Fellowships, which is “to instill a culture of news innovation worldwide.” The program aims “to provide new ideas and services that widen and deepen coverage, expand news delivery, and engage audiences.” The fellowship program is supported by the Knight Foundation, with additional funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The winners will be recognized on November 13 at ICFJ’s 2025 Tribute to Journalists. All nominations must be submitted by Thursday, February 6, 2025, no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. ICFJ may reach out to nominees for further details. For any inquiries, please contact [email protected].
