Integrated PR and communications agency, GT Communications, has announced the appointment of Katie Rodwell to the newly created role of General Manager, effective October 1, 2024. Rodwell brings a wealth of experience in corporate affairs and communications, having worked across a range of industries and global markets.

Currently serving as Director of Client Services at GT Communications, Rodwell has been instrumental in managing client experiences across the agency’s East and West coast offices. She also leads the consumer and retail practice, offering expertise in strategy, planning, and campaign management.

With nearly 20 years of experience running high-impact PR campaigns in both agency and in-house teams across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas, Rodwell has consulted for a diverse range of industries including financial services, technology, telecoms, not-for-profit, travel and tourism, government, healthcare, and professional services.

Her past work includes projects with major global brands such as American Express, Toyota, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Paralympic Committee, British Telecom, Motorola, News Limited, Robert Half International, and Virgin Money.

In her new role, Rodwell will continue to provide strategic leadership while overseeing GT Communications’ operations and client services. She will relocate from Perth to Sydney in early 2025, where she will work from the agency’s Sydney CBD office.

Founder Gemma Tognini expressed her confidence in the appointment saying, “Katie isn’t just an exceptional strategic talent she is a highly empathetic leader who applies a sharp commercial focus to her work. I couldn’t be happier with this appointment. Katie and I have a natural alignment in our approach to our partnerships, people, and our work, that in my experience over 21 years in market, is rare.”

The newly created General Manager role was introduced in response to growing demand for GT Communications’ services across multiple states, including Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales. “As the founder of a truly national, independently owned agency, I am incredibly motivated about our next chapter,” Tognini added.
