Drinks International launches its Drinks International Brands Report 2024, a comprehensive survey offering insights into the buying habits of the world’s most influential bars.
The Brands Report surveys a carefully curated sample of 100 leading bars, each of which has been nominated or awarded in prestigious international competitions. The survey gathers data from bar owners, managers, and head bartenders, detailing their purchasing preferences across more than 20 categories of spirits, mixers, wine, and beer. The data is then collated to identify the bestselling and top-trending brands in the industry.
Shay Waterworth, editor of the Brands Report, shared, “The Brands Report has been around for 15 years now, and it is undoubtedly one of the most significant pieces of research conducted each year for the bar industry.”
“We have a new champion in the Bartenders’ Brands list while there has been similar variation in categories right across the Report. For 2024, we’ve also interviewed both a bar owner and a senior brand operator to get their insights into buying habits and the significance of the Brands Report on a corporate level.”
The invitation-only survey includes bars that have featured in recent editions of The World’s 50 Best Bars (1-100), Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards, and Top 500 Bars, as well as regional awards like North America and Asia’s 50 Best Bars, and national awards such as the Class Bar Awards. To ensure comprehensive coverage, about 5% of the bars were “editor’s picks”—highly regarded venues in regions less represented by awards. The panel rotates annually to reflect the current geography of the industry’s most influential bar scenes.
