The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) has announced the appointment of Freya Campbell as its new Director of Communications. She will formally commence her role on 7 July.
Freya Campbell joins ABC from UNSW Sydney, where she currently serves as Executive Director of Strategic Communications. In her role at UNSW, she has been responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, including media relations and communications for the Vice-Chancellor.
With extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, issues management, and government relations, Freya has led the development of integrated communications across multiple channels and platforms. Before her tenure at UNSW, she worked at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), where she led a team delivering communications across 80 locations in 48 international markets.
In her new role, Freya will be part of the ABC Leadership Team, where she is expected to play a key role in shaping the organization’s communications strategies and strengthening engagement with employees, stakeholders, media, and audiences.
